Once upon a time, in a land not too far from where you're sitting, there
was a band of artificers known as the Software Distillery. Their goal was
nothing less than the enrichment of the Amiga community via freely-
redistributable software. In pursuit of this goal they produced marvels
such as BLink, Hack Lite, PopCLI and MemWatch, and their fame spread
throughout the land.
As the years passed, less and less was heard of them, and rumors spread
that the Distillery was no more. And indeed, eventually the Distillery
was disbanded, as its members became involved in other projects, or merely
got lives. Some of them formed Obvious Implementations Corp (Oh, I see!),
which may itself be destined for greatness. And some of them, some of us
in fact, started up Home Brew Software, Inc., a new group dedicated to the
enrichment of the Amiga community via freely-redistributable software.
Can the magic work again? Perhaps not...these are sad times when passing
ruffians can say "Niii" at will to old ladies. Still, we intend to try,
and in that spirit present Hack Lite v2, our first, but by no means our
last, project.
The current members of Home Brew Software are as follows:
Alan Beale - Jim Cooper - Jay Denebeim - Bruce Drake - Harry Evangelou -
Gordon Keener - Andy Mercier - Mike Whitcher
Programs distributed by Home Brew Software, Inc. are the work of our
members. Any defects should be blamed on the author(s), and are not the
responsibility of any individuals not listed above, whether living or
dead, polluted or distilled.
Copies of Hack Lite and our other projects can be obtained from our
bulletin board at (919) 859-5316.
